Not ready to commit? Not sure how it will look on your particular wood? Order pre mixed samples of our incredible CUTEK® Extreme oil and CUTEK® Colortones to test on your wood.
CUTEK® Pre-Mixed Samples are moving to small 0.5 US -fl oz packets.
There are CUTEK® Colortone (18), plus clear CUTEK® Extreme.
You can also make a custom blend of CUTEK® Colortones to generate almost limitless color options. Please see the CUTEK® Colortone Visulaizer to get an idea of what the Colortone might look like on your species of wood. Please note that the CUTEK® Colortone Visulaizer generally represents new wood or wood treated with the CUTEK® Reviver- not old silvered wood.
The CUTEK® Colortones Chestnut and Gray Mist are being phased out and are no longer available as pre-mixed samples.
The Sample packets will contain a Double Strength mix of CUTEK® Colortone into CUTEK® Extreme, when brushed out this represents:
- two coats with a Single Strength of CUTEK® Colortone, or
- one coat with a Double Strength of CUTEK® Colortone
HOW TO USE:
1) Gently knead, squish or shake the packet, to mix the contents thoroughly
2) Have a brush ready, and cut the packet open
• Pour out contents and use the brush to spread thinly over the wood
3) Allow the sample to dry in a sunny spot to see final color
CUTEK® Extreme is sold as a clear oil, and if applied without an added CUTEK® Colortone it will allow your wood to lighten naturally into a beautiful silver look on exposure to sunlight and UV.
Adding Colortones to CUTEK® Extreme not only allows you to customize the color and enhance the beauty of your chosen wood, but it will preserve its underling color by adding UV protection. This is what helps to prevent silvering.
Note:
CUTEK® Extreme diffuses deeply into wood and will continue to provide moisture protection and improve dimensional stability even if a CUTEK® Colortone is not added and the wood becomes weathered and gray.
If you would like to retain the natural freshly oiled color of the wood you’re working with, you MUST add a suitable Colortone to the clear oil. Choose one of our 20 Colortones which have been specifically developed to closely match many popular wood species.
For best results, select a Colortone that stays close to the natural shade of the coated wood. Add one Colortone per Gallon for full strength use.
